I create in chaos. It’s not efficient, it’s rarely inspiring and it has many pain points in the way I work. So, why? Mainly because life gets in the way. I’d rather be creating things for other people. It’s not about the money (because I rarely make much from it), it’s not about the notoriety (I am only known by a handful of wonderful supporters)…. It is because I get a soulful satisfaction of bringing something into people’s lives that bring them happiness. Something to look back on. But there is a trade off. Projects take longer because of the chaos… finding things and moving tools and projects from one spot to the next is time consuming and tiring. This is why these have been a long time coming. I’ve been working this week on my shop in hopes of reining in on some of the chaos. This will eventually be a miter saw station and another work bench. 4 drawers per section to declutter and put things in their proper place. I probably will always bring chaos into the workshop… when in the throes of creating there will be tools and sawdust flying. But I hope to bring a bit of balance to the shop. I look forward to the big final reveal. It’s been awhile since I posted. So I hope to get back to this more frequently.
