ComicBookCollecting is a beloved hobby by many, and it has been around since the late-1890s. The modern collecting of comics began as early as the Great Depression, when comic books first appeared as a cheap source of entertainment and distraction. comics, first published in the 1930s, were especially popular and remain highly sought after by collectors.
The 1940s and 1950s marked the dawn of the comic book boom, with the introduction of the comics that featured Superheroes such as Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man. Though superheroes were a large part of the Silver Age, horror, sci-fi, humour, westerns, and other genres also enjoyed great popularity. During this decade, the comic book audience grew significantly, as did the market for collectibles.
The late 1960s and 1970s saw the advent of the , which was characterized by a rise in more realistic characters, stories and art. As comics matured, so did the idea of collecting them, and the hobby grew increasingly popular. Furthermore, the rise of comic book conventions and fanzines allowed fans to actively engage with each other and learn more about the art and its creators.
Today, remains a popular hobby among fans of all ages, and collectors continue to seek out rare and valuable issues. While there has been a great shift in the cultural acceptance of comics, the love and passion of avid fans remains unchanged. It is sure to continue growing as we enter into a new age of comic books and its collecting.
