The Sure Stop Pro from Scotty performs several crucial functions during downrigger fishing;

1. The Sure Stop Pro works with the auto-stop feature on Scotty's electric downriggers to ensure that your line stops in exactly the same place, every time. This prevents terminal tackle from snarling in the pulley, and makes the retrieval process safer, more convenient, and completely predictable.

2. The tuna cord provides a secure hold for your self-locating snap, and is easier on your hands when pulling tackle onto the boat.

In this short video, the always-awesome John shows you how to properly adjust the brake tension on any electric Scotty downrigger.

This is essential information if you plan on switching the weight of your cannonballs. It will also be helpful to those who'd like to perform their own routine maintenance.

🦀🦐 Bad news for these little guys, but there could be some delicious news for you. 🦐🦀

Catching prawn and crab is a whole lot easier (and more fun!) than you might think!

You don't need a ton of room, or money to install a manual puller on your boat. In just a few minutes, Scotty can get you all geared-up and ready to start hauling in delicious crab and shrimp!

The 750 Trap-Ease is a great manual option for small boats and kayaks. You could even install one on your SUP. It's built like a tank, and hardly takes up any room at all.

The 749 is the same product, minus the 241 side deck mount. It's perfect for those who've already got Scotty mounts on their vessel.

If you haven't tried prawning, or crabbing (and it's allowed where you live) we highly recommend it. It's always exciting to see what you find below the waves... though our crabby amigo here may feel less enthusiastically about that.
