Council had a special meeting on December 8 to hear from Peter Paz, Senior Director of Public and Government Relations (Ontario) for Alto Rail regarding a new high-speed rail project across Ontario and Quebec.

Alto's goal is to involve Canadians throughout the development of the project, and they are offering an opportunity for the public to share feedback on project plans and community priorities at an Open House in Perth on March 4, 2026! The first session is from 11 am to 3 pm, and a second session is taking place from 5 pm to 9 pm, both at the Perth Lions Club (50 Arthur Street, Perth).
