Of all the books in the world a 1952 Charlotte's Web is the book I most want for deeply personal reasons. At prices ranging from $500.00 up to $22000.00 I doubt I will ever own one but just the same. So today we're talking about those pesky reprints and why that old book you have is only worth about 5 dollars. Think of them like Gucci knockoffs... They're basically a pirate copy so to help you in your search here is a rundown of some of the major reprint publishers. So for today's offering we have two first edition Sinclair Lewis books up for grabs. Kingsblood Royal became a controversial book with white supremacy groups writing to president hoover to have all copies of the book seized and a lesser known work titled Gideon Planish. Asking price is $50.00 per title... Although Sinclair Lewis was a prominent writer in the early 1920s his work remains culturally relevant to this day.
