How to fish it:

Snap it up sharply and let it fall back on a semi-slack line. That's when the flutter and flash trigger reaction strikes, so stay ready, most bites come on the drop. A slower quivering lift-and-drop works too when fish are being fussy.

It's a walleye staple first and foremost, but don't sleep on it for pike, lake trout, perch and crappie either. Tip the hook with a minnow head or a small plastic for extra scent and action under the ice.

Two new ways to get bit on top and on the swim: Z-Man Fishing Products' Hellraizer and Mulletron.

Z-Man Hellraizer, the topwater:

🎣 Fish it dead slow for surface commotion, or burn it fast across the top and it still tracks true
