Hackmanite (Ontario, Canada) 💜

Hackmanite is one of nature's most fascinating minerals. Found right here in Ontario, Canada, it displays a rare phenomenon called tenebrescence, allowing the stone to change colour when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light.

After being exposed to UV light, Hackmanite temporarily holds its vibrant colour before gradually fading back to its original appearance. This remarkable ability makes every demonstration feel a little like magic, showcasing one of the Earth's most extraordinary natural wonders.

This is just one of the many incredible minerals waiting to be discovered here at the Cave. Explore the Exhibit this summer with one of our knowledgeable and passionate tour guides and get the experience of a lifetime. 🩷 Today we say "see you later" to one of our own 🩷

Today is Kay's last day with us at Crystal Cave after five wonderful years. She is so much more than a team member and will always be a part of our little crystal family 💎✨

Her kindness, laughter, and presence will be greatly missed! 🩷

While we're sad to see her go, we're so excited for everything that lies ahead. We know her future is bright and filled with new adventures, wonderful opportunities, and well-deserved success ✨

Whether you're exploring Crystal Cave, the Mineral Exhibit, wandering the Faerie Garden, or simply passing through, stop by the Wanderer's Outpost to satisfy your cravings with mouth-watering fresh-cut fries, poutine, loaded fries, soft serve, slushies, and a few sweet treats for the journey ahead!

The Wanderers Outpost will be opening today at 12:00 PM, so gather your party and make your way to the Cave ✨
