One of the perks of being in the book club is that existing members get to vote on what we are reading next year! Here’s the long list of options (all of which are books I’ve either read and can’t stop thinking about, or they’re on my TBR and I want to read them with others!). We will be narrowing this list down to six books for next season!

Existing members have until the end of today to vote and register for book club next year (check your emails, friends and let me know if you didn’t get the message).

Registration will open up for new members tomorrow. There will be limited spaces, so keep your eye on socials if you’ve been waiting to join!

This Fridaaaayyyy! The Summer Solstice party is happening at Three Sheets from 5-10pm! The food truck will be open, patio vibes will be vibing, and Sara, Rebecca and I will be bringing all of your beach essentials to kick off the summer season in Saugeen Shores!

From my end of things, I’ll be bringing beach reads, road trip activities, puzzles, and a selection of books for Dads (because Father’s Day is this Sunday!)

Bring the whole family and enjoy a fun night out!

Say “hello” to Elizabeth, a new face you’ll see around the bookshop. After the response to the posting for a bookseller position, I had a very hard time not wanting to hire everyone who came in for an interview!

Elizabeth will be filling in a few hours each week when Cortney or I are away.

Fun fact about Elizabeth: she actually stayed at the AirBnB in the UK that allows guests to run the bookshop below during their stay! Elizabeth is incredibly well read, and tends to read books that are often not on my TBR, making her a huge asset to the team!

Summer solstice is happening next weekend! Larkspur is teaming up with some of our favourite local businesses to celebrate those long days in the sunshine!

Next Friday night, join us at Three Sheets Brewery for fun summer vibes on the patio, and while you’re there, stock up on all of your summer essentials: books, brews, sun care, and funky beach merch!

Today’s restock of Villager Puzzles | Kelly | Support Women Artists was epic. They now require their own shelf, so there’s been a bit of a shop shuffle to move some things around to make space for more puzzles, and more books!! Come check out our puzzle corner!

Also, we brought in their new 250 piece puzzles! Perfect for a weekend at the cottage when you want a quick and cozy challenge that won’t take all day!

If you don’t know about Villager puzzles, this is a women-owned, Canadian business and the art on the puzzles is from Canadian, female artists!

I’m not typically reaching for Ann Hatchett books as I find they force me to settle in and take my time reading them, and I’m always wanting to read as much as I can and find the slow and gentle pace of her writing conflict with my need to READ READ READ! So, much like her others, this one took me a bit to get through. But it was lovely. If you are an Ann Patchett fan, I think you will enjoy this one.
