At the Afterlife Collective Boutique, we are incredibly grateful for every single person who donates to our store. ❤️ Your generosity is what keeps our shelves stocked and allows us to continue giving back to our community. We truly couldn't do it without you.
That said... we need to have a little chat about donations. 😊
We happily accept clean, gently used items that someone else would be excited to take home. Unfortunately, we've recently been receiving bags containing actual garbage, heavily soiled clothing, items covered in pet hair, cut up clothing scraps, strong odours, and shoes that have clearly run their final marathon (and then some!). If it belongs in the trash or recycling at home, it probably isn't ready for a second life at Afterlife.
Every bag of unusable items has to be sorted by myself or our volunteers, and we have to pay to dispose of what can't be sold. That means money that could be going back into our community instead goes toward garbage disposal.
Before dropping off your donations, please ask yourself:
🧺 Is it clean?
👕 Is it in good, wearable condition?
👟 Would I be happy to give this to a friend or family member?
If the answer is yes, we'd absolutely love to receive it!
