I was lucky to be chosen to test another great pattern by Origins Yarn Studio! This hookncase is perfect for keeping my crochet hooks and other essentials close at hand, wherever I go 🧶

It's also always fun to learn a new stitch along the way with a pattern test, and this one really added a unique look to the case 💕

It's been a minute since I did a pattern test, so it was nice to jump back into it with this book sleeve by Origins Yarn Studio! The pattern was easy to follow and quick to make up. The pattern will be released in a few days 🧶

Made using a 5mm hook. Blue yarn is Red Heart Super Saver and turquoise is an old Zellers (🤯) worsted that I stole from my mom's yarn stash 😅 I have no idea where the button came from, but I look forward to collecting more unique buttons to make fun book sleeves with!

The book sleeve pattern is simple to adjust to the size of your book, like this one by local author HM Shander

Are you outdoorsy? I'm not at all, but I've been trying to take my indoor hobbies outside more often for some sunshine and fresh air.

The last time I was reading on the deck, my 6 year old made me an iced tea with a special heart ice cube and joined me 🩷

I'm stuck crocheting and reading inside this week with all the rain we're getting, but I'll be looking forward to the next sunny day ☀️

Sadly, just a few days after their 2nd "gotcha day", we lost one of our gerbils, Luigi. My son was heartbroken so I make him a Luigi he can keep forever, complete with his little white toes and beard. Of course he needed a Mario to pair with, even though he is doing well on his own. I'm so thankful that this little hobby of mine could help ease his heartbreak, even if just a little bit.

Loving my new throw pillow cover from ABC Designs! I'm planning to add a couple small bits of elastic so I can keep my hook, scissors, needles etc handy.

My 5 year old started collecting my trimmed yarn ends about a year ago and they make the perfect stuffing (with lots of room for the next year or 2's worth!). I just had to promise I'd let her borrow some the next time she wants to make "yarn soup" 😂
