I’ve done a lot of soul-searching since the storm and have gone back and forth on this decision many times. The truth is that I don’t enjoy selling flowers. The sales aspect of the business has always been something I’ve felt uncomfortable with.
Bloem was born during a very dark period in my life. Growing flowers helped me reconnect with nature and with the land I call home. Along the way, I discovered that sharing flowers with others brought me immense joy. To me, Bloem has never been about selling flowers. It has always been about growing beauty, spreading kindness, and creating moments of connection.
I will always grow flowers in some capacity, but moving forward, I will no longer be selling them. Instead, next year’s peony harvest will be gifted to the people who have supported me throughout this journey. It will be my way of saying thank you for your kindness, encouragement, and support over the past few years.
While this chapter of Bloem is coming to an end, I hope you’ll continue to follow along as I begin a new one. I’m not entirely sure where this next journey will lead, but I do know it will remain rooted in the things that matter most to me: nature, creativity, community, and kindness. I hope you’ll stick around to see what grows next. ❤️
