🪵🔪 NEW! Level 1 Carving Classes at The Builder’s Den!

We’re excited to get our next Level 1 Carving program started on October 1st, Taught by a very wonderful gentleman, Dave!

Designed for ages 12+, this is a great introduction to wood carving for anyone who wants to learn the basics, build confidence, and create some pretty cool projects along the way.

Students will learn proper knife handling, carving techniques, safety, and gradually work their way through different projects as their skills develop.

✨ And they get to keep their gear!
Each participant receives their own Opinel No. 8 knife and carving glove to use throughout the program and take home at the end.

🪵 Ages 12+
📅 Starts October 1
🔪 Level 1 — no previous carving experience needed

Spaces will be kept limited so everyone gets lots of hands-on instruction.

Saturday mornings are for building! 🔨🧵✨

Our Little Builders got to practice their hammer skills while creating their own nail & string art. Tiny nails, colourful string, BIG creativity — and a whole lot of very serious hammering! 😄

We love watching these little makers build confidence one project at a time. 💛

Recent donations and my heart fills with gratitude.

Sometimes I look around The Builder’s Den and realize just how many people helped make this place possible. ❤️

This may be a one-woman venture, but there is an entire community behind it.

So much of what you see here has come through the generosity of others — donated tools, wood, supplies, time, advice, helping hands, encouraging words, and people who simply believed in what I was trying to build. Friends and loved ones have stepped in when I needed them, and members of our community have shown up in ways I never could have expected.

Every donation, every shared post, every person who signs up for a class, every friend who lends a hand, and every "keep going" has helped build this place.

The Builder’s Den was created to be a place where people can build, learn, create and connect — but somewhere along the way, I realized that the community was also building The Builder’s Den right alongside me.

I may be the woman behind it, but there is a whole team of people who keep it going.

And I am so, so grateful. ❤️

Thank you for believing in this little dream and helping me turn it into something real.

“I can’t believe I did a whole project in ONE class!” 🥹🔨

And I got to tell him, “That’s because you’ve learned so much — you’re getting faster and more confident every time!”

He built this whole picture frame in just one class, and the best part? It’s for Grandpa. 💛 I have a feeling Grandpa is going to be pretty darn proud of this handmade gift.

Pretty proud of you too, Bud! 🥰

And of course, little brother had to sneak into the photo too. 😂

Watching these kids realize just how capable they are is one of my favourite parts of The Builder’s Den.
