We are still buzzing from our 5 year anniversary celebration this past Saturday!! What an absolute joy and privilege it was to see you all, to share in the love of birds and nature with you! We hope that you enjoyed the celebration as much as we did!! 🎂

We want to give a special thanks to the Alberta Society for Injured Birds of Prey for being there this weekend, with beautiful Marcie the Harrier. You all helped raised over $700 for injured raptors!!
We also want to thank Gavin McKinnon & David Scott for attending the event to sign their brand new Field Guide to the Birds of Alberta book! It was a pleasure to have them both here sharing their passion and hard work!
Thank you to Butterfly Wings N’ Wishes for sharing your amazing winged and non-winged creatures with us! From the snakes to the tortoise to the hissing cockroach, it was great to meet so many underappreciated species!! Thank you as well for the butterfly rearing kit donation!!
Here’s another big one: a huge thank you to our amazing staff, and their families, both current and past. All of you have contributed to making Backyard Birds what it is today!! Our vendors, too! We appreciate you so much, and are so proud to showcase your work and support your livelihoods.
