Billowing - the word that comes to mind when I look at this section of heavy wrought iron fence that once surrounded a home at 50 Gerrard St in Toronto. Probably from around 1900. The scrolls are over scale and artfully designed for whimsy rather than security. Removed 25 years ago and only now on the market.

There are four sections somewhat like this one measuring 74”w x 36”h at the middle point. In as found condition. Each available individually.

This handsome mantel from the 1880s is the pine version of Italianate marble mantels that were popular at the time and lacks nothing on its cousin except coolness to the touch.

Home Again - Valerie just sent me this pic of the late Georgian mantel she bought at Artefacts so I thought I would show where it came from and some of the crew who extracted it. The big empty space was a massive built in cupboard but you can see the shadow of the mantel to the right. Caledon c1840.
