HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY AL PITTMAN!

Every year at Broken Books we hosted a celebration of the life and work of a fine Newfoundland poet on what would have been his birthday. People took turns reading their favourite of Al's pieces, and those who knew him shared some stories.

We couldn't host an event this year, since the shop is no more, but we planned on carrying the tradition into a local watering hole--that didn't quite work out, either.

So we're reading on our own tonight. Here's to you, Al.
