What is this place? Posie Row & co. started in the 90s as a sweet go to shop for cool local and global things. Some of us who own shops in the building used to come here as teenagers and daydream about all the things we wanted to buy.
A few years ago, the owner bought the building next-door and expanded the shop and in doing so acquired a bunch of rooms and the idea to rent out the rooms to other local businesses made sense!
The building has become a cultural hub and hub for local independent small businesses.
They have helped get lots of business started. Some moved to bigger locations, some come back again and some moved on to other big dreams.
Some of us hope to stay until retirement.
We have an artist studio who do pop-ups sometimes, a pod caster, the work studio for Pinpoint Ink who’s shop is on Duckworth down the road, Dear Dawcy & ritual Botanicals, who is open Thursday to Sunday, and of course Posie Row’s store open 7 days a week, moving in soon we have brin & nedle who will be open Thursday to Sunday too, and something else tba.
The building is often used for photos shoots, pop-up shops and lots of fun projects.
The building is also a Heritage building. You can ask the staff and shop owners for the inside stories.
The beautiful historic architectural features and whimsical colours make it a special visit. This building has been many things over the last more than a hundred years…. And it is a sweet way to use the space. From a merchant’s home and shop to a mini department store of local. Many of us wouldn’t have gotten started without Posie Row & co. the building and their support. Always pumping out good local stuff all around! Keep posted here for more news in the building!
