The Perennial House is full of beautiful new arrivals. Unlike annuals - perennials return season after season growing fuller and more beautiful with time.

🌿Plant in late summer to give roots a chance to still establish while the soil is still warm, helping plants settle in before winter.

🪻Perennials are forgiving. As your garden grows, most can be moved to a new spot or divided every few years to create even more plants!

It's hot! 🔥Your plants need different watering right now.

💧 Water deeply. A long & slow soak encourages roots to grow feet down, not inches down, making plants far more resilient when the heat sticks around. Better than small daily waterings!

🌱 Let the soil dry a bit between waterings. Frequent shallow watering keeps roots near the surface, where they dry out fastest.

🌳 Don't forget the trees! Newly planted trees (within the last couple of years) are often in a drought/stress phase and need regular deep watering. Even established trees can struggle in extra heat. By the time they show obvious signs of stress, damage may already be done. 🌸 Perennials and smaller shrubs will usually let you know they're thirsty by wilting - trees, not so much!

🚿 Pierre's trick: Leave the hose on a slow trickle at the base of the plant or tree for an extended period. It's far more effective than a quick spray with the nozzle.
