On October 31, we said goodbye to our amazing mother, Joan Corbett.
She lived her life by the seat of her pants, always smiling and finding a reason to laugh, no matter the circumstances.
Mom was loved and admired by everyone who knew her, and always gave great advice.
Joan always remarked how so many people “sprout wings and a halo” after they pass, but this won’t happen for our “Joanie”, she had them from the start!
Thank you to everyone for the love and support through this difficult time. Flowers and donations are not necessary, just raise a glass and give a toast to Joan, she was a classy lady.

Tickets are $10 and there are some AWESOME prizes! Anyone wanting to buy a ticket I will put your name in for the draws but if you can make it we would love to see you there

For my UK peeps, this event is like a hen night and a bachelor party crossed with a village fete.

Last night we celebrated the end of 42 years of Corbetts and the retirement of Barb Smith, after 29 years with us! Victor and staff at The Purple Pear took great care of us, amazing food and service. We will definitely be keeping in touch and hope to be back.
We had a wonderful time, no tears!! I am so grateful for 25 years of friendship and love from our staff and customers. Excited to be moving on to a new chapter, working with a local private investigation firm and doing some sales for a local custom furniture company, Heritagehardwoodfurniture.ca.
If anyone is looking for part time staff please let me know as a few of my ladies aren’t quite ready to retire. Any of them would be a huge asset to any business, retail or otherwise. Although they are multi talented in many areas, their relationship building and “people” skills are absolutely the best.
The bricks and mortar store is now closed but keep a lookout for me on marketplace, and I will also still be able to do some special orders from Bradford Exchange, Enesco and possibly other suppliers. I also am still buying and selling collections of various products, mostly Disney, Department56 & Barbie but feel free to get in touch if you have items you are interested in selling.
Farewell my friends, I hope to see you all around in the community!!

Currently in Florida because my mom was taken into hospital where she had pacemaker surgery and ended up in ICU because of complications. Thought I’d update everyone at once here to save myself some time. She’s been downgraded from ICU overnight and is now on a general cardiac floor. Sounds like a positive change.
