Happy that the Yellow Bird Lotus bud decided to open, even after all its leaves got trashed.

Since I won’t be able to enjoy the shredded lotus leaves outside, I will just stay in the greenhouse and enjoy the opening of this gorgeous lotus flower.

The deluge of rain and hail in that 40 minute period today (July 27) was not expected. My rain gauge had about 3/4” of water before this afternoon. Lotus and Waterlily leaves did not do well. We will see if they put out any new leaves. Otherwise, they are shredded. Hyacinths are also shredded due to the hail. The dock in the pond behind the house was almost submerged. And the dugout is once again overflowing. It’s been a horrible day.
