Vintage mid-century modern Scandinavian teak roll-top secretary desk. Beautiful, warm wood grain pattern throughout. This functional piece is perfect for an apartment, condo, or home office setup where space-saving style is needed.
The wooden barrel cylinder slides open easily to reveal a complete workspace - great for a modern laptop or writing area. Built-in cubbies and letter slots alongside three compact accessory drawers. Double bottom doors open to show a storage area featuring an adjustable shelf on the left and privacy drawers on the right. Iconic recessed oval wooden handles on the lower cabinet doors. While the original paper factory sticker is no longer present on the base (very common for 60-year-old imports), this exact blueprint, frame profile, and hardware setup are confidently and widely attributed to designer Egon Östergaard for manufacturer Svensk Möbelindustri (SMI), made in Sweden during the 1960s. Excellent vintage condition with light wear consistent with its age and use. Structure is sturdy and tight, wood grain looks amazing, and all drawers/doors glide open seamlessly. No key included. Delivery can be arranged for a fee within a reasonable distance.
