I made this video Friday around 5pm, right before the fire. I was so excited to share all of the beautiful new arrivals with you. ❤️
I can’t lie — I’m feeling incredibly grateful that my business is still standing, while at the same time feeling stressed and uncertain about when we’ll be able to reopen and resume business.
I had just started receiving my fall orders and, as you can see in the video, had started merchandising the shop with all of our new fall stock. Twelve boxes of clothing arrived last week, and I still have four more shipments committed to over the next two months.
I feel a little helpless not knowing what the coming weeks will look like.
I also feel hesitant sharing my worries when so many people in our community have lost their homes and are facing something I can’t begin to imagine. My heart is truly with everyone who has been affected. ❤️
At the same time, my husband and I both have businesses on Main Street in Summerland, so naturally there is a lot of stress and uncertainty for us too. I know so many other small business owners in town are feeling the same way.
Summer is such an important time for our local businesses, and missing one of the busiest months of the year is going to be incredibly difficult for so many of us.
For now, I’m just feeling grateful for what we still have, hopeful for our community, and sending so much love to everyone affected by this devastating fire. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who has reached out, checked in, supported local businesses, and kept our community in your thoughts. It means more than you know.
