Your customers are already buying cards, but most of them are walking out without anything to put them in 🤔
Accessories are one of the highest-margin items on a card shelf, and they sell on proximity more than persuasion.
A few placement habits and simply prompting the customer can move them without anyone feeling sold to:
🎯 Put sleeves and toploaders at the register instead of the card aisle. Impulse positioning is key here.
📦 Bundle them with the cards themselves. "A pack plus sleeves" just seems like practical protection, not an add-on.
🗣️ Have your employees start using phrases like "Anything to keep those in?" during checkout.
🎒 Stock a binder or two in view. It shows shoppers that the category exists and makes the smaller items look like an easy buy.
🔁 Restock your accessories! Empty shelves are the most common reason these sales stop happening.
Accessory sales are rarely lost due to price. They're lost to the customer never being asked 💬
