🌧️ With a storm moving into Saskatchewan overnight, now is excellent timing to fertilize your trees! The added moisture helps carry nutrients down into the root zone naturally.

🌳 Spring fertilizer supports strong root growth, healthy leaves, and vigorous growth heading into the season.

For most trees, we recommend a slow-release balanced blend such as 10-10-10 or 14-14-14, or a nitrogen-heavy blend if trees need an extra push after winter. Apply around the drip line (not against the trunk) for best results.

Healthy trees start in spring! If you have questions about what your trees need, send us a message. 🌲

If you’ve ever wanted that wow fall colour in your yard… this is the tree 🌳🔥

Autumn Blaze Maples are one of our favourites for a reason:
• Bright red fall colour that really stands out
• Hardy for our Saskatchewan climate (Zone 3)
• Fast growing (you won’t be waiting decades for shade)
• Beautiful upright shape

They’re a hybrid of silver + red maple, so you get the best of both worlds — quick growth and incredible colour.

We’ve still have a limited number available for presale, with pickups starting in May.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a statement tree to your yard… this might be the one.

Looking for a hardy feature tree that actually thrives in southwest Saskatchewan?

Gladiator Rosybloom Crabapple checks a lot of boxes. In spring, it’s covered in rich rosy-pink blooms. Through summer, the deep purple foliage holds its colour beautifully and gives you that bold contrast most yards are missing. It keeps a nice upright shape too, so it works well in town lots without crowding everything around it.

And one of the best parts? The small crabapples stay on the tree through winter. No big mess on the lawn — they just hang there adding colour until the birds gradually pick them off. Winter interest and a natural food source all in one.

Available for pickup in spring:
• 6’ tall
• 7 gallon nursery container
• $130 each

Send us a message if you’d like one set aside 🌳

🌲 No Snow + Cold Temps: What This Winter Means for Trees Across SW Sask ❄️

With very little snow on the ground this winter, our trees are missing their natural insulation. Snow normally protects roots and soil — without it, cold can pe*****te deeper and cause extra stress.

Here’s what that can mean:
• Deeper soil freezing and stress to young or shallow-rooted trees
• Increased risk of winter drying from cold, wind, and sun
• Freeze–thaw cycles that can damage roots and trunks
• Less spring moisture from snowmelt

One upside: evergreens like spruce often suffer winter burn when bright sun reflects off snow. With little snow this year, that reflected-light damage is likely reduced.

Most established prairie trees will be just fine, but newly planted trees and evergreens are more vulnerable.

🌱 What helps:
• Mulch around young trees
• Water early in spring once soil starts to thaw

The biggest factor will be spring moisture — April to June rainfall matters more than winter cold.
