Sagina lime moss or Irish moss, is a beautiful, fast growing, evergreen perennial, with an eye catching green colour and dainty white flowers that bloom from spring to fall. It is a rarity among mosses as it thrives in full sun!! And also grows in partial shade, and as it stays green all winter those empty gardens beds won't be so dull come winter!

Perfect for rock gardens, planting between paving stones (yep you can walk on it too!) or along the front edge of walled gardens where it will soften edges and grow into the wall, or for the front of beds and borders. Best of all it is deer resistant and creates a thick w**d proof barrier, preventing seeds from reaching the ground. COASTAL EROSION PROBLEMS! READ ON THIS IS FOR YOU!

As grasses go this is probably not the most impressive to look at, but it has qualities that can help with erosion on beach front properties, and is exceptional for wild bird populations.

Ammophila breviligulata or American Beach Grass is vital habitat for the endangered Piping Plover (federal Species at Risk Act, 2003) along with other birds such as Short-eared owls and various gulls. The seeds feed Snow Buntings, and various insects feed on the blades.

It thrives in shifting sand, high winds, salt spray, and drought, making it a great choice for coastal erosion control - Fast growing, once established, it can spread between 6 and 10ft in a single year and it is native to Nova Scotia.

Japanese flowering cherry are one of the most sought after trees and shrubs - every year many customers ask for them but they are often only available in tree form and often at high prices that start at $150 upwards.

This year we have managed to secure some smaller 3 gallon pots at the bargain price of $39.99 (Yes you did read that correctly!)

Lovers of full sun and drought tolerant once established these make stunning bushes for your garden, and for those of you adventurous enough, they can be pruned to eventually grow into a tree. They make for beautiful cut flowers and produce the best flowers in full sun. It is worth noting that while these are not classed as deer resistant they are usually left alone for other plants (they have never touched it in my garden!) - however if you reside in Truro I wouldn't recommend these unless your garden is secure.

Reaching heights of up to 12 feet, they grow at a rate of 1-2 feet per year - however the first year after planting most activity takes place underground as the root system establishes.

WARNING - INCREDIBLE PLANT OFFER!!!

Every year it is a pleasure to offer plants well below the industry retail price, and creeping thyme is by far the most popular - We usually sell red creeping thyme but have been fortunate enough to get hold of some purple creeping thyme this year - normal retail prices vary between $9.99 AND $12.99 per plant. But we have these available at the stunningly low price of $5 per plant with a minimum order of 5 plants - $25

Creeping thyme is a low growing mat forming perennial that flowers for a long period from spring into summer. It has purplish to rose coloured flowers and is ideal for some of those hard to plant spaces - it will love those gravelly spots around the edge of your house, between paving stone, or even along your driveway! In many European countries creeping thyme is beginning to replace lawns - why? Because it is drought tolerant and will keep its colour throughout a hot summer. They surpress w**ds and spread rapidly, from a tiny 3" pot they can easily cover a square foot in 1 season often more.

OMG! This stunning perennial Hibiscus is flowering right now in my garden, and other than a few black eyed Susan's there isn't much else to shout about. So if your garden is lacking colour and you want to brighten it up for September colour this could be for you!

Please be aware these arrive in Spring and take a good month of greenhouse growing to get them ready. With this in mind and very limited space in my greenhouse we only have space for growing 40 of them. These will be ready for collection end of May to early June.

Fernleaf Peony are rare and very expensive. I have been watching them for the past 6 years because several staff members have asked for them but at the usual retail price of $80 a plant and often higher - none of us were desperate enough to order them in. But that has changed!

As showy and hardy as the poenies you will know of, and just as deer resistant - we are able to order these in at $39.99 each - This could be your only chance to grab one before the price flies high again next year, and we are very limited on available stock.
