Hi Folks,
just a quick message as we head into the holiday season. I am going to be having a table this year at the Legion in Shawnigan Lake on Nov 30 for their Xmas Craft Fair. This is the only one I am doing this year as my schedule is nuts with TWO grandchildren on the way over the next few weeks.
Here is a quick video of the event and some of the other Vendors. Would love to see as many people as possible to come out and support the event.
If you want to order any special items from me I suggest you get that to me ASAP as my time is getting tight to complete for Xmas timeframe.

Might not look like it but that’s about 7 hrs of shop time today. Couple days after Halloween means Xmas time in the shop. Gotta get ready for the fairs and gifts.

I am going to be teaching another CNC 101 class next week at the Cowichan Community Workshop (https://www.ccwcoop.ca/)
If you have wanted to learn CNC basics like sign making and other carvings this is the time to sign up. Go to the website and follow the links to the classes. Space is limited to only 4 people due to size limitations. The CNC can also be used any time the Shop is open once you have taken the class.

I volunteer at the Cowichan Valley Community Workshop just south of Duncan. It is a open Community Maker space that anyone can come join for a very small fee. The workshop is amazing and has most of the BIG tools such as a tablesaw, bandsaw, jointer, planer and a new CNC. All of these tools are available for anyone to use once you become a member and take the safety course. I am teaching a CNC basics course on Oct 28th from 5pm-9pm cost is $80 but you come home with a new Sign and the knowledge of how to both design and make your own signs (or anything else). this is the link to the page and website.

Coming soon we are having a Open House with some tools being sold off to raise money. this will be in November at some point, dates have not been released

So was out working in the shop today when I realized my shop itself was a complete mess and becoming a hazard due to the loose small pieces of wood EVERYWHERE. SOOOO decided it was time to clean out the storage Sea Can so I can properly clean up the shop. Well…. Want to know what 7-8 years of woodworking and collecting various pieces of wood looks like 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🧐. Look no further. What a day! Spent almost 5 hrs emptying and cleaning this out. Still not done but exhausted so will get after it tomorrow or next day. Looking much better now. Also found some really nice wood I had forgotten about 🤦‍♂️.

Very proud and happy to say I was asked by HMCS Vancouver from the Canadian Navy to provide some gifts for different occasions. I made some slate coasters with different engravings and some crib boards with their Ships crest in it. What I Truly appreciate though is the Captain of the ship personally ordered and bought these plaques for her junior leaders as a reward for being promoted and attending the leadership course. This is the type of leadership that the Navy really needs. I have had the pleasure of meeting her a couple times and can say she is the REAL DEAL.

Today was a big day. I delivered my first commercial project (kinda). I was asked by Unsworth Vineyards to provide a custom Co****le set with their logo for their Grand Opening of their new tasting room coming soon in August. They have an employee celebration first so they asked if I could deliver early so they could enjoy first . OFC I can…!! Stay tuned for more pics. They promised to tag me in their announcements during the Grand Opening
