Hey y’all! Remember when I said “I’m back” almost a year ago?! 🙈 well, I would love to showcase the sewing project that expanded into multiple projects!
I received two big bags of clothing with a request to make a memory quilt from the clothes.
And wow!! I could not believe how much material that gave me to work with. After all was said and done, we created:
🦋The main project became a king-sized butterfly quilt, featuring special tshirts and the butterfly shape center.
🌞The second project was a baby blanket with the request of incorporating “You are my sunshine” wording into it.
👚Next two projects were “quillows” to highlight a few special shirts that you’d see when in pillow form, and some lovely plaids on the blanket part.
🪡the next blanket was a test of “what if I….” To see if I could do quilt as you go technique and I learned a lot from that one. The larger chunks of fabrics were mostly used up by this point so it took some strategic planning and cutting to come up with a pattern.
4️⃣ and then I got to make 4 throw pillows which were so fun to make smaller, quicker projects.
It took a long time, and I’m thankful my cousin was so patient and gave me creative liberty for all this! These projects gave me a great amount of time to reminisce about this special lady, and my time spent with her and her hubby, also reminded me of my grandparents too 💕 thanks for the challenge Destiny! Hope you and the fam enjoy the memories of your grandma 💕
