📣 Join us at our Open House on Saturday June 27th from 10am-3pm at 240 Main Street in Thessalon.

Everyone is welcome. Come inside and see our Happy Place, full of 100% quilting cottons, fine yarns, patterns, notions, and our beautiful display of BERNINA and bernette sewing machines.

There will be sewing machine demonstrations, retired sample quilts for sale, door prizes, a porch sale as well as in-store savings to be found. This is a great opportunity to see what is going on at The Creative Basket and learn about our social stitching events. If you are curious about fibre arts, come by and say hi. We are happy to answer your questions.

We are excited to be joined by our friends from The Algoma Fibre To Fabric Festival who will be onsite offering information about the festival and the workshops that you can register for. 🐑

We had a wonderful time hosting Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor Sherida Giddings for a Quiltworx retreat at The Creative Basket this past weekend. We spent 4 days learning Judy Niemeyer’s foundation paper piecing technique with the support and encouragement of Sherida and her friend Linda as participants worked on a variety of Judy’s patterns. There was lots of hard work, many hours of sewing, and lots of laughter and learning. Thank you to Sherida and Linda for such a rewarding educational experience and to everyone who participated 🧵🪡✨🌟

I’m currently away on holiday. Quilt shops are always on my itinerary if possible. Today I had the pleasure of visiting “Authentic Patchwork” in Barcelona Spain. Mar Sandoval is a talented quilt designer and artist. It was wonderful to visit her shop and admire her work! She is also a Bernina Dealer!! I may have purchased her”Magnolia Lane” pattern and kit 🥰…..so excited!!!
