Thunder Bay's Thunder Bay Bluesfest was in town this weekend.

We at Squitti's were honored and surprised to meet Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hoffert. Paul was a founding member of the rock band LIGHTHOUSE, and his wife is currently managing the band.

Thanks for the visit, and the VIP pass to see the Legendary Juno Award winning band LIGHTHOUSE band perform.

The music was uplifting, and positive, bringing back some fond memories of Thunder Bay in the 1970's...

RE: LIVER PROBLEMS and CANCER !

3. Chicory Root, family to the dandelion root, is a traditional herbal treatment for liver ailments. (rediscovered by Maryann in 1987)

4. Protein/vitamin support. Simple organic eggnog. (Common European morning food) This is the positive approach. This strategy strengths the body, so that its natural defenses deal with the problem. A lack of iron, or protein is often overlooked in light of the fact that the 'normal range' for iron is very wide.

Marsala Ovo, a fortified wine with egg yolks is a common ancient Calabrese treatment that was used a great deal in Simbario, Calabria Italy, together with 'Fero China". A tonic Squitti's and Mary Ann Squitti would sell at Squitti's Grocery in the 1960's. Today it is not so readily available.

Interesting to note. Milan-based Bisleri's Ferro-China was created by Felice Bislieri, who in addition to making liqueurs was a pharmacist and a freedom fighter under Garibaldi. It is an alcohol infusion with cinchona bark, herbs and iron salts.
