If you’ve ever walked past the Sparkle Candle Co display and thought, I’ll just smell one… you already know how that ends. 😂

Sparkle Candle Co. is based in Tillsonburg and makes simple, everyday soy candles with clean scents that are meant to actually be burned and enjoyed; not saved for some imaginary “special occasion.”

The best part? The scents feel fun and familiar without being overcomplicated, the kind you light while cleaning the kitchen, working from home, having people over or pretending your life is significantly more put together than it is. 😂

If you haven’t stopped at the Sparkle Candle section yet, consider this your warning.

September 1st hits different when you own a small business. 😂

One minute you’re soaking up the last little bit of summer and the next… fall launches, holiday prep, markets, orders, restocks, content, packing, shipping and approximately 4,827 things on the to-do list.

From now until January, Sparkle basically owns us. ✨🕯️

Free time? Never heard of her.
Weekends? That’s adorable.
Sleep? We’ll circle back in 2027. 😂

But also… this is the season we wait for all year and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Just a little of this… and a little of that. ✨

Behind the scenes, we’re busy pouring, prepping and getting everything ready for our fall collection! 🍂

The next few weeks officially kick off one of the craziest and most exciting times of the year for candle makers, and we can’t wait for it.

What you don’t see: all the hands-on work that went into getting it there.

Every single Sparkle Candle is made by hand, in small batches. From cleaning and prepping every jar, mixing fragrances, measuring and pouring wax, placing wicks, waiting (impatiently ) for them to cure, trimming, labelling and testing… there are SO many little steps behind every finished candle.

And sometimes? A batch doesn’t turn out exactly how I want it to, and I start all over again.

There’s no big production line here. No machine pumping out thousands of identical candles. Just me, a whole lot of wax, a whole lot of patience, and probably way too much obsessing over the tiniest details.

So when you pick up one of my candles, you’re getting something that has quite literally passed through my hands from start to finish. 🤍

Ever wonder why I poke holes in the tops of my candles?

It might look a little strange, but there’s a reason for it!

As a candle cools, the wax can shrink and create little air pockets or sinkholes underneath the surface, especially around the wick. By poking these holes, I’m giving those hidden pockets somewhere to escape.

It’s one of those tiny behind-the-scenes steps you’d probably never know happens, but it helps me get that smooth, beautiful finish you see when your Sparkle candle arrives. ✨

Hand-poured really does mean hands-on every step of the way. 🤍
