Fresh batch of little stuffies just landed at The Commons Makers Co-op store!

Did you know, each is entirely hand stitched, made with all secondhand fabrics including the stuffing and even the embroidery thread, and each one takes close to 2 hours from start to finish!

🥕 Local Farms & Food Producers
…and other high-quality handmade or locally produced products.

The Commons Makers Co-op is home to over 70 local makers, farmers, and artisans in Timmins Square. Our goal is to offer customers a thoughtfully curated selection of locally made products while supporting small businesses that are committed to quality craftsmanship, professionalism, and locally made goods.

We proudly prioritize makers from Timmins and the surrounding region, as well as communities throughout Northern Ontario. We also welcome applications from exceptional artisans and producers across Canada whose products align with our vision and complement our existing maker community.

Because we’re committed to maintaining a balanced mix of products, not every application is accepted. We carefully review each submission based on product quality, originality, local representation, craftsmanship, and how well it fits within our current marketplace.

To apply:
Visit www.waxwingcommons.ca, scroll down the homepage, and click “Apply Now.” Our application outlines everything you need to know about becoming a maker at The Commons.

A whole dozen critters from the fabric rescue are ready for adoption at The Commons Makers Co-op ! Beavers are extra ridiculous this time around! 😅

As always, entirely hand stitched, made from secondhand fabrics, and stuffed with fabric scraps, they are zero waste and just the touch of whimsy we all need these days!

Another fresh restock of lavender sachets just arrived at The Commons Makers Co-op !

There's a good range of vintage, nostalgic, and bold colors and prints!

I'm currently smitten with the dainty brown and cream floral, how about you?

As always, lavender grown in Ontario, and upcycled fabrics!

Fresh crop of lavender sachets coming to The Commons Makers Co-op this afternoon!

As always, they are made using lavender from Ontario (Weir's Lane Apiaries in Dundas), upcycled fabrics, and are stitched closed by hand because I care about finishing touches and attention to detail even if it's in a closet or drawer! 💜

Which one would you pick?

It's been a busy week, so excuse the subpar photos, but with the beautiful weather coming, we had to bring back the bucket hats!!!
I just brought 2 dozen fully reversible hats at The Commons Makers Co-op! All hats are made with upcycled fabrics, in 6 different sizes, from XXS to XL, and a riot of colors to celebrate the actual spring we are finally getting! 🌼🌱🪺🐝

Restocking this afternoon at !

2 full sets of Mom+littles just in time for Mother's day! 💙🩷

Also, I recently acquired a hefty stack of thick vintage sheets that were just begging to be made into these beautiful white aprons with just a hint of color. Someone embellished them at some point with a variety of colorful machine embroidery stitches and I have many more where that came from. What do you think of them? Thank you to Jackie at (Relics) for letting me know about these. She has loads more beautiful antique linens. 🤍

And finally, last call on that farmhouse print, at least for large items. If you like it, get it before it's gone! 🤎

Do you have a favorite?

I spy with my little eye.... 🐝Also, stay tuned, I have a couple of very special aprons coming soon...
