Not every partnership starts perfectly. And sometimes the ones that matter most begin with someone saying yes at exactly the right moment.

When our original Ryley CSA pickup location fell through last year, we needed a solution, and we needed it quickly.

Our Ryley members were counting on us, and we were not going to let them down.

We reached out to Linda at Tasty's at the River Rock on Main Street in Ryley. She said yes without hesitation. That kind of response, no questions, no conditions, just a straightforward yes from someone who understood what we were trying to do for this community, is something you don't forget.

Tasty's became our Ryley home, and it has been a wonderful fit ever since.

If you are in Ryley and haven't stopped in yet, we would encourage you to do so.

They are exactly the kind of community-oriented local business that makes a small town feel like home.

Thank you, Linda!

We want to take a moment before anything else this week to acknowledge what is happening in our community.

Tofield is dealing with serious flooding. The town is in a state of emergency as the water system works to manage the volume of rain we have received. Families, businesses, and the infrastructure that holds a small community together are all under enormous strain right now.

At Maple Park Farm, we are not untouched. Our own fields, wheat, barley, canola, vegetable and flower crops, have standing water on them. We are watching and waiting alongside so many of you.

We know how hard people here work, and how much is tied up in the land and the seasons. When the land is hurting, the people who tend it feel it deeply.

To everyone in Tofield and across Beaver County who is dealing with flooding right now, we see you. We are thinking of you. And we are in this together, the way this community always has been.

What a weekend.

CSA deadline day. Ryley Sports Day parade. And Father's Day all in one stretch.

This community never stops showing up, and neither do we.

To everyone who signed up for our CSA this weekend, thank you. We cannot wait to start packing your boxes in July.

To Ryley, it was so good to be in your parade yesterday. The second of three parades for Maple Park Farm this summer, and every bit as wonderful as the first. See you again soon.

And to Kent, Happy Father's Day. Thank you for everything you pour into this family, this farm, and every season we grow together. We couldn't do any of this without you.

The summer chapter is just beginning. Vegetables in the fields. Cut flowers are coming. Kaitlyn's sunflowers are growing. More good things ahead.

Happy Father's Day.

We finally got out there.

After weeks of cold snaps, storms, and enough rain to test anyone's patience, the soil finally gave us the window we needed.

This week, we got our vegetable garden starts transplanted.

There is something deeply satisfying about watching transplants go into the ground after a long wait. Every row is a small act of faith that summer is here and the growing season is fully underway. And while we were in the gardens, we checked on Kaitlyn's sunflowers.

They are pushing through. Little green shoots are coming up out of the soil, right on schedule. We seeded that patch with her wedding in mind, and seeing those first leaves emerge is one of those quiet farm moments that make everything worth it. More updates all summer as they grow.

P.S. CSA sign-up deadline is this Saturday, June 20th. Those transplants going in the ground this week? They are going into your CSA box this summer. 🥕

When we were building our CSA program and thinking about where our Tofield members would pick up their boxes, there was really only one place that made sense.

The Moonshine Cafe.

In a small community, the businesses that say yes to partnering with a local farm aren't just offering a pickup location. They are saying they believe in what you are doing.

They are lending their space, their reputation, and their community trust to your vision.

Moonshine Cafe has done that for us from day one. And we are grateful for every single Thursday that our CSA members walk through their door to pick up their boxes.

If you are in Tofield and you have not visited Moonshine yet, go. You will understand immediately why we wouldn't have wanted this partnership with anyone else.

Thank you, Amarjeet and team at The Moonshine Cafe

Today is the last day.

After months of seeding, growing, transplanting, and tending, today is the final day of our bedding plant season at Maple Park Farm.

The greenhouse doors will close tonight on another chapter of this farm that we have given everything to. This season had it all. A cold, slow spring that tested our patience. Storms that arrived just when we thought planting weekend had finally come. Days of rain that kept everyone, us included, waiting for the gardens to dry.

And through all of it, you showed up. You came to the greenhouse, asked great questions, went home with plants we'd been tending since January, and brought this season to life in your gardens and on your patios.

Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

If you still want to visit before we close tonight, we are open until 5pm, and the sale continues on everything remaining.

The farm isn't going quiet, though. Our focus now shifts to the vegetables growing in the fields and the cut flowers coming along in the greenhouse, including our very first carnation crop, and a sunflower patch seeded for our daughter Kaitlyn's wedding later this summer.

If you want to stay connected to the farm all summer long, our CSA still has spots available. Fresh, locally grown vegetables delivered to a pickup location near you, starting July 16. The sign-up deadline is June 20, just six days away. Link in the comments.

This isn't goodbye. It's just a new chapter.

Here it is, the news we teased yesterday.

As we close out our bedding plant season, we are offering 50 % off all remaining greenhouse stock this weekend.

Everything. Annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, if it's on the benches, it's part of the sale.

This is the last weekend Maple Park Farm's greenhouse will be open for the bedding plant season.

We have put everything we have into this season, through the cold spring, the storms, the rain, and all the beautiful moments in between, and we want every plant we have grown to find a good home.

Come see us today or tomorrow. Bring a friend. Bring a truck.
