Ian McKellen stars as crusty, eccentric, once-famous painter, Julian Sklar. The Christophers are two renowned series of portraits of his first lover...but wait, there is a third series of Christopher portraits that he never finished. Enter his two unscrupulous offspring (played by James Cordon and Jessica Gunning) who hire an up-and-coming young artist to complete the paintings so they can make a fortune when Sklar dies. So who is the most conniving -- the kids? Or the forger?
It's a sly black comedy featuring the relationship that develops between the characters played by McKellen and Michaela Coel (an accomplished writer, director, and actor who is also outstanding in this film).
If you're a fan of typical British humour and great repartee, this is a must-see! 95% on Rotten Tomatoes!

Director Steven Soderbergh has won five Oscars, three BAFTAs, and five Golden Globes for direction. His most successful films are "S*x, Lies, and Videotapes", "Traffic", and "Erin Brockovich".

The District of Tofino is sharing an update from the Ministry of Transportation and Transit regarding a full closure of Highway 4 between Chalet Road (Cameron Lake) and Aspeden Road (Port Alberni) on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

During the closure, crews will align barriers, remove hazard trees, and maintain the rockfall fence in the area.

Please follow the direction of all traffic control personnel and signage in the area.

Campfire Ban In Effect 🔥🚫🌲

That crackling fire might be cozy but during dry Island summers, its just not worth the risk.

🚒A campfire ban is now in effect and will be until October 31, 2025, or until the order is rescinded.

This prohibition is being enacted to help prevent human caused wildfires and protect public safety.

What is NOT allowed during this prohibition:

❌ Sky lanterns
❌ Binary exploding targets
❌ Fireworks
❌ Burn barrels or burn cages
❌ Air curtain burners
❌ Carbonizers
❌ Controlled air incinerators
❌ Wood-fired hot tubs, pizza ovens, and other wood-fired devices (unless vented through a building flue)

What is ALLOWED
✅an outdoor stove is a CSA-rated or ULC-rated device used outdoors for cooking, heat or ambiance that burns charcoal briquettes, liquid fuel or gaseous fuel, and has a flame height that is less than 15 cm tall.
