My FIRST pattern design is coming!! ๐ŸŽ‰

It's called the and it's been a long time coming - I'm so excited for it to soon be out in the world!

It will be released as part of the June 2024 , which is for sale now on their page. If you sign up now, you can get the box with all the materials needed to make this mini quilt next month, or you can sign up for the digital pattern only and make it with whatever materials you have on hand!

I took 's course at the beginning of 2023 and have been slowly picking away at a few patterns that I'd like to one day release. But for now, I'm happy to share this mini quilt that can be made into either a wall-hanging or a pillow cover.

If you buy it, let me know what you think! Happy sewing ๐Ÿชก

My first shot!

And by wild, I mean approximately 20 steps from my house ๐Ÿ˜‚

When I was taking these photos, I thought, "This is cool, I can't wait to take more pics in front of this ivy wall!"

Cut to two weeks later, and of course it's entirely bare, because, y'know...Fall.

Oh well! I'll just be glad I took these pictures when I did ๐Ÿ˜„

I took a lot of pictures of these quilts, so I'm going to have to share a few more...

Quilt photography is the hardest part for me. Our house doesn't have a ton of natural light and there aren't many free corners or walls to take photos. Luckily with a little rearranging and a very talented fiancรฉ, we find a way!

It has been a WHILE.

I haven't had much of a drive to sew for most of this year, but I was inspired to make these quilts for two special little babies coming soon. So very happy for the mama-to-be!

Same, but different, just like twins ๐Ÿ˜

My most recent finish is this by

If you have been following for a little while, you may have seen the process pics of this baby quilt in my stories. In fact, you may have seen that I made two at the same time ๐Ÿ˜† (honestly, I wouldn't recommend - felt a bit like an assembly line ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ)

In any case, I'm very excited for these quilts to make their way to the homes of some new babies (and new moms!).

I'm also so happy with how the mix of textures between the
and turned out to separate the night and day skies.

Oh, and I tried appliquรฉ for the first time!

What do you think?

Using two shades each of warm and cool colours, one a more rich and saturated version of the other.

You can tell from my feed that this colour palette was outside of my comfort zone ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I really love how it has come together and I can't wait to have it all quilted. I love the crispness of an unquilted quilt top, but the way it comes together with the softness of batting and the backing peeking through when curled up.. that's the best!

Unfortunately it will probably be a few weeks (/months? Idk) before I can get to quilting this one. Starting a WIP pile for now! ๐Ÿ˜‚

P.S. check out my quilting assistant in the 3rd pic - she approves! ๐Ÿ˜

Another look at the by ๐Ÿ‘€

When I first got the coloring sheet for this quilt, Matt and I sat for at least two hours (maybe 3...) making mock ups with different colour palettes. Finally this is what we landed on and I really wasn't sure about it until now. I'm not sure how to quilt it because I'm worried it's going to ruin it ๐Ÿ˜‚ If anyone has any suggestions on what colour to use to quilt it...I'm all ears!

P.S. tomorrow is release day!!!

You may have seen me posting about this quilt in my stories lately...

This is a preview of the by

It is my first time testing a pattern before its release and I had so much fun! It was also my first block-based quilt, and the first time I have done inset circles and half-circles. Lots of firsts to kick off 2023!

The release date of the Rhythms Quilt is January 24th and I can't wait to see all of the other testers' colour choices and final results! ๐Ÿ˜

I'm back and popping in before the new year! I have been MIA for a while because I've been quietly working on 3 quilts for my family as Christmas gifts. Now that they have been gifted, I can post about them and work on other new projects!

This is a quilt top I've posted before, but I finally got around to quilting it and sending it to my brother and his family. This is still one of my favourites and I might have to make another one for myself down the road...

Quilt: by
Fabric: in sun glow, pink sand, cremini, cenote, ocean, and midnight. Background is snow by , and backing is their in oyster.

Thanks again to for helping me get the colours right! It's so hard to buy fabric online and make sure the colours all match, but Lisa is such a sweet person and always willing to help!

My new was perfect for adventuring in Peggy's Cove! I've also worn it about a hundred times since then and feel pretty confident it can be an all-year option that can be dressed up and down.

Made in watercolour floral print cotton voile with a black lightweight cotton voile liner.

My friends are moving back to Manitoba after 7 years in Toronto, so I wanted to give them a gift that would remind them of their time here. I looked and looked for some kind of Toronto themed sewing pattern but couldn't find anything (or anything that I liked). So I tried my hand at foundation pattern piecing (FPP).

I watched a couple YouTube videos on FPP, found a line drawing of the CN tower online, traced it, and broke the photo up into chunks that had all straight lines. I grabbed scrap fabrics from my last few quilts, and...here it is!

I have to say, FPP is pretty amazing. Where regularly quilting relies on perfect cutting, FPP somehow gives you these tiny details with minimal effort - just sew on the lines and trim away the excess fabric!

I thought I might make a video on how I made this, but for now a photo of the finished product will do. We'll miss you, Jess & Simon!!
