📣 New Workshop Announcement 📣

If you’ve attended one of our workshops this year, you already got the scoop as this plan has been in action for MONTHS!!

I am so excited to partner with Louise and the team at FrenchBlooms flower farm to host a field to vase flower farm and design workshop coming up on Sunday August 23. French Blooms grows some of the absolute best varieties, the quality is incredible and only a short drive out of Toronto.

You’ll get to roam the flower fields, take photos, learn a bit about flower farming and growing cut flowers and then create your own arrangement with instruction led by us using flowers from the farm.

This experience is the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday morning and August blooms are truly the best. Here are the details:

Date: Sunday August 23, 2026
Time: 9:45 am - 12:30 pm
Location: 2720 King/Vaughan Rd, Maple (close to Wonderland)
Price: $135/ticket (one ticket=1 admission)

We welcome anyone to join us and children aged 8 & up can attend as long as they are supervised when using floral shears. No pets are permitted on the farm. This is a rain or shine event- the design workshop will be held in a tent. Dress for the weather, we’re not made of sugar!

Oh, hi

We’ve been in the design trenches and are finally coming up for air. We’ve got a bit of a lull in events through august which is strange to experience and, truthfully, admit.

August is a favourite month of mine for flowers and I’m grateful to have the retail part of business keeping my hands busy and heart full.

Stay tuned for all that we create

Zinnias, cosmos, delphinium, rudbeckia, echinacea, amaranthus, scabiosa and yarrow all grown by my mom!

The floral industry in Ontario (and other parts of Canada) was turned on its head at the end of last week with one of the biggest wholesalers suddenly closing

It was such a shock that when I got a text from a fellow florist about it, I actually thought it was a spam message because it was so unbelievable.

While there are plenty of floral wholesalers that I purchase from and as such access to flowers will remain unaffected, the loss of a pillar in the industry brought forth a lot of emotions. The floral industry is built on community. I have relationships with not only other florists, but the people that help get flowers into my hands. When one of the giants closes, you think “are we all doomed?”. It was a dark past few days.

Along with the loss of a floral wholesaler, the company also served as the main provider for all the gorgeous vases and pots we fill our retail shop with and use for weddings. We will find a way to continue to source these beautiful pieces, but direct access has been affected. This closure in the middle of wedding season is a tough one!

Luckily I have spent the last few years growing my wedding rental inventory, but now when a guest takes home a vase it’s going to hit a little harder. So if you’re attending a wedding, please don’t assume you can take the vase - thank you in advance! 😅

The floral community is nothing but resilient. We find solutions, make substitutions, share our inventory and insights and we get it done. So with that, stay tuned for our busiest stretch of wedding season for the next 4 weeks.

I always add a little something extra special in the bridal bouquet I didn’t plan for

In this instance it was a few pansies 😊

When I’m writing floral recipes sometimes I can’t remember or predict every flower that’s going to be available the week of a wedding so I’ll write a note under the floral variety that simply says “seasonal dancer” or “special bits” so I remember to look for them the week of
