| Meet Robert “Bob” Janicki, our August 2026 Author of the Month, where deep-rooted brotherhood and raw frontline history collide, as he honors the quiet heroes of Vietnam and shows us the true heart of service! 🎖️

A decorated Marine veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Bob’s journey is defined by his unwavering devotion to his fellow service members. After serving as an infantry squad leader during the grueling Tet Offensive, he transitioned to a successful 31-year career in IT at AT&T. Guided by a passion for advocacy, Bob founded a workplace support group in 1985 that grew into the national AT&T Veterans Organization, dedicating decades to driving impactful community outreach across the country.

In “Looking Back” he gives us the unvarnished truth of the Vietnam War. Centered around a deeply moving cover photo of his three-man squad taken right after a fierce battle in March 1968, this memoir is a masterclass in survival, tight-knit brotherhood, and the weight of remembering those who didn't return. Bob places you right in the dirt with the everyday soldier, capturing not only the harsh daily realities of the frontlines but also the complex sting of coming home.
