We have so much vintage jewelry here at the studio! Pearls, silver, gold and gold tone, statement pieces, classic pieces- anything you could ask for! What kind of jewelry do you search for the most? We are starting to prep our tables for our Fall shows 😁

Summer isn’t over yet 😎 We just added some summer dresses to the shop !! From the 1930s, 1940s and a gorgeous Sézane! Sn**ch one up to wear until the end of the summer!

These incredible designer pieces just landed in the shop!

Our favourite is the turquoise silk Zandra Rhodes dress from 1983. It was custom made for a customer for an event and uses the textile print ‘A Field of Poems’ from her Indian Collection (AW 1982) and Mount Olympus Collection (SS 1983). We thought the Mount Olympus reference was very of the moment with Odyssey fever in the air! If you don’t know, Mount Olympus is a mountain in Greece which features in Greek mythology as the palace home to the twelve main Greek Gods, led by Zeus.
The dress also features lines of poetry from Cicely Mary Barker’s fairy poems.
Ian purchased this from Kerry Taylor Auctions in 2022.

We have another Zandra Rhodes silk chiffon dress in cream with a purple and brown print and satin belt, also from the 80s.

The other two dresses are by Hanae Mori and unsung Parisian designer Michel Pelta. We have also included an absolutely incredible lace 2 piece set by Italian designer Eli Colaj.

2010s Fashion Aesthetics

Have you seen the trends of the 2010s cycling back yet? The decade that mainstreamed subcultures and made normcore, athleisure and ultra minimalism an ideal. The emergence of social media influencers and the hyper consumption of social media in general lead to ever increasing fast fashion consumption and quick trend cycles. What fashions defined it and is any of it worth a do-over? Let’s check our old Tumblrs to find out! By the way, in just 4 years (2030), 2010 fashion will be vintage!

- Indie Sleaze (mid 2000s to early 2010s).

- Hipster (late 2000s to mid 2010s).

- Business Casual Corporate Clubwear (late 2000s to early 2010s).

- Soft Grunge (late 2000s to mid 2010s).

- Retro Twee/Mid Century (50s/60s) Nostalgia (early to mid 2010s).

- Coachella Boho Festival Fashion and 60s/70s Retro Americana (early to mid 2010s).

- Pastel Goth (mid 2010s).

- E-Girls and E-Boys (late 2010s).

There’s definitely a lot of crossover with many of these aesthetics. It was harder to pinpoint the late 2010s- are we just not far enough away from it yet to see, or was there a drought?

We just added some early 2000s pieces to the shop ! A couple of denim skirts, low rise jeans and even a set that has gauchos. Perfect for the end of summer 😎
