✨ CZECH SLAG GLASS — STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! ✨
Czech Slag Glass! 🇨🇿

Opaque, streaked and marbled pressed glass became particularly famous during the Art Deco era, between WWI and WWII. Makers in Bohemia — now the Czech Republic — developed these gorgeous multi-coloured glass beads to imitate natural hardstones such as malachite, jasper and agate.

I also fondly call these “Pressform” beads because they were formed in molds — and if you look closely, you can actually see the mold seams. 😉

The coral-coloured graduated Slag Glass necklace I’m wearing is 48 inches long, beautifully strung with deep orange beads between the graduated coral beads.

And here's the really exciting part…

✨ This necklace was only recently revealed from its original box, dating to the 1950s! ✨

I own this necklace — and many more — exactly as they were when they first left Czechoslovakia.

This isn't your everyday curated vintage strand that has made the rounds of countless flea and antique market tables.

This is fresh, untouched vintage stock, straight out of its original packaging and now in my collection. No reworking. No restringing. No previous life as someone else's curated resale piece.

Original. Beautifully strung. Perfect condition. And absolutely delicious colour. 🧡🩷

I am having a HANKERING for ice cream. 🍦😂
I NEVER do. I don’t crave sweets, and I have an occasional ice cream cone maybe once every few years. But tonight? I suddenly feel the need to go out and buy myself a tub of Chapman’s.
Anyone else?! 🤣

Turquoise! Wow — it really does go with everything. 💎

My new neutral for this season, along with blue — stay tuned for my blue examples!

I have many turquoise pieces, but I **LOVE** this one. Why?

It’s all about those vintage turquoise stones — wonderfully artisanal, natural, raw and beautiful, just as they came from the ground. **Rare and special.**

And then there’s the pendant… ✨

A natural crystal quartz heart that is truly one of a kind. Its unbelievably organic, imperfect heart shape is something I have *never* found in another stone. It feels as though nature designed it herself.

Yet somehow, the entire piece is also a wonderful example of design — a true statement necklace.

The wire is **14K gold**, with a **24K gold clasp on sterling silver**, beautifully patinaed with age.

This extraordinary 5-STRAND crystal necklace, circa 1950s, is in museum-quality condition — literally never worn except for this very photo.

And OH, the sparkle! ✨✨✨
The camera simply does not capture the incredible dazzle and brilliance of this piece. It has all the glamour and fire of what looks like a gazillion diamonds!

But the necklace itself has an even more special story…

It has been part of my personal collection since 1995, carefully sealed in an airtight container and preserved ever since.

It was gifted to me by my best friend in Vancouver when I lived there for 2½ years. It had belonged to her grandmother — which makes owning it even more meaningful to me. ❤️

I love this necklace for its beauty, rarity and incredible condition… but I love even more the story of how it came into my collection.

Now, after all these years, this remarkable vintage beauty is finally ready to meet the world. ✨

So… A or B?

Let's talk about vintage jewelry from West Germany 🇩🇪!

Vintage jewelry marked West or Western Germany refers to collectible costume jewelry produced between the formation of West Germany in 1949 after World War II and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

What has always impressed me about West German artisans is their exceptional craftsmanship. In my humble opinion, they were second to none if not only to the Italians. West Germany jewelry is known for its quality, precision, and imaginative designs. Some of their pieces were wonderfully quirky and whimsical, with a delightful sense of humour that always made me smile. Sadly, I don't own any of those creations... perhaps one day!

The necklace I'm wearing from my personal collection showcases everything I admire about West German craftsmanship. Every bead is precision-cut Lucite (acrylic), expertly faceted to catch the light with the brilliance of fine crystal. And I adore their use of colour. The accompanying beads in the video are the most gorgeous powder-blue molded glass beads—equally exquisite examples of the exceptional craftsmanship that made West German jewelry so highly regarded.

Let's talk diamonds... 💎

We've all been told that diamonds are rare. But if they're so rare, why are they everywhere?

For decades, brilliant marketing has convinced us that a mass-produced diamond is the ultimate symbol of luxury. In my opinion, that narrative has driven prices far beyond what many stones are actually worth.

After more than 40 years as a vintage jewelry collector and former jewelry designer, I still shake my head when I see people spend well over $1,000 on a generic, factory-made pendant that thousands of others own.

Personally, I'll choose history, craftsmanship, and individuality every time.

This signed Sherman crystal pin is a perfect example. It sparkles with all the fire and brilliance you could ask for, yet it is genuinely collectible, increasingly difficult to find, and has been preserved in an airtight case for approximately 30 years.

To me, true luxury isn't about following the crowd—it's about owning something with a story, exceptional craftsmanship, and timeless style.

🍊 Forbidden Fruit... and simply irresistible.

Austrian "Forbidden Fruit" jewelry is among the most coveted collectible designs of the 1940s–1950s. Crafted from beautifully domed molded lucite and sparkling pavé-set Austrian rhinestones, these whimsical fruit brooches and matching earrings have become true mid-century icons.

Of all the fruits, the orange is my favourite. I've cherished it since 1999, carefully preserved in an airtight case for over 25 years, and just revealed.
