Those small details tell so much about who we are and where we come from.

Meet Malaya + Bayani 🇵🇭❤️

Malaya was created so Filipino girls could see themselves reflected in play.

Then families asked us, “What about our boys?”

That question eventually led us to Bayani, because Filipino boys deserve culturally representative dolls too.

Our Filipino collection now includes Malaya in Signature and Mini sizes, Bayani, the Halo-Halo bag charm, Filipino enamel pins, stickers, apparel, and more little ways to bring culture into everyday life.

Hispanic Heritage Month may be one celebration, but it represents so many cultures, communities, histories and traditions. ❤️

There is no single Hispanic experience.

At Joeydolls, our Hispanic representation currently begins with Mexican culture through Mateo and Xochitl. They were created with input from Mexican families and community members, but we know Mexican culture is only one part of a much bigger and beautifully diverse community.

Our hope is to keep expanding the cultures and stories children can see reflected in our world.

Because every child deserves to grow up seeing their identity as something worth celebrating. ❤️

One question kept coming up:

“Will there be a boy too?”

As more families fell in love with Mei, we started seeing the comments, messages and requests for a Chinese boy doll, too. ❤️

That question eventually became Jun.

He started with sketches, early samples and lots of revisions as we worked to create a doll families could feel proud to bring home.

Many Filipino parents in our community tell us they grew up without dolls that reflected them.

For their children, they want something different.

Seeing culture represented in everyday play can be meaningful for a child, but it can also be emotional for the parent who never experienced it themselves.

That generational connection is a big part of why Joeydolls exists.

We created Malaya so Filipino girls could see themselves reflected in play. Then families began asking us, “What about our boys?” That question helped us keep expanding representation with Bayani.

We’re coming up on three years since our very first Joeydolls shipment finally arrived in December 2023. ❤️

After all the dreaming, designing, sampling, and waiting, we could finally hold the dolls we had wished existed for our own children.

This Thanksgiving, we’re especially grateful for every family who has welcomed a Joeydoll home, every child who has seen themselves reflected in one of our dolls, and every educator, retailer, friend, and supporter who has helped carry this mission forward.

Thank you for being on this journey with us and for helping more children feel seen, celebrated, and proud of who they are.
