As the year winds down, I always find this stretch to be less about pushing and more about pausing.

The last few weeks of the year are a rare window to reflect on what worked, what stretched us, and who walked alongside us to make it happen. It’s a time to check in with colleagues, clients, collaborators, and friends, not with an agenda, but with genuine gratitude.

From a business standpoint, this year brought a milestone I’m deeply proud of: growing sales $125% YOY. That kind of growth doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s the result of consistency, relationships, trust, and a lot of behind-the-scenes problem solving that never makes it to social media.

Beyond the numbers, this year was rich in community. Being involved in so many meaningful events, as both a co-organizer and participant, reminded me why I started building in the first place. Food has a way of bringing community together, and I’m grateful for every table, market, and shared moment with new and old customers

I also had the privilege of connecting with new founders, swapping notes, lessons, and encouragement, and strengthening friendships along the way. Those conversations are fuel heading into the new year.

As we gear up for what’s next, I’m carrying forward a lot of lessons, a lot of gratitude, and a quiet excitement for what’s possible.

Wishing everyone a thoughtful close to the year and a strong, grounded start to the next.

2026 is going to be even better, and I am looking forward to what’s in store. How was this year for you?

The state of customer service in 2025? Let’s just say… we can do better.

Somewhere along the way, “customer service” turned into ticket numbers, auto-replies, and chatbots programmed to say sorry without ever actually fixing anything.

But here’s the truth I keep coming back to:
- Putting the customer first isn’t a slogan. It’s a practice. It’s a choice. Every single day.
- For small businesses, especially, our customers aren’t data points. They’re real people who trusted us enough to bring our products into their homes, their kitchens, their celebrations. That’s a privilege.
- In 2025, the brands that will win are the ones that slow down enough to actually listen.
- The ones who follow up.
- The ones who fix mistakes without defensiveness.
- The ones who treat every interaction as a chance to build community, not just complete a transaction.

At Never Not Eating, I’m constantly reminded that exceptional customer service isn’t complex.

It’s human.
It’s generous.
It’s doing right by people, especially when it’s inconvenient.

If we want loyalty, retention, and real relationships, it starts with something simple: Choose people over process. Every time.
