This complete set of vintage French enamelware canisters just landed in the shop. Each one wears its history beautifully: that gorgeous crazed glaze, the gentle patina on the rims, and classic black lettering for SUCRE, FARINE, CAFÉ, PÂTES, THÉ, and POIVRE.

City Hall 1901. Union Station 1873. Honest Ed’s. Grenadier Pond. St. Lawrence Market. Maid of the Mist. King & Queen Streets.
Each design is restored and produced in-house from historic photographs of Toronto and Ontario, 1870s to 1950s. Printed on heavyweight matte cardstock.

I think this may be the most beautiful sugar tin I’ve ever found 🩵and I had to stop in my tracks.
Look at that Art Nouveau detailing. The autumn leaves, the berries, that turquoise border, and the script “Sugar” lettering… every inch covered in charming details.
