This evening's teaser is Mokosh from Hey Mama Wolf
Mokosh is a real staff favourite, it seems to tick everyone's boxes at YU. It's a 21-micron count (real soft, y'all) GOTS-certified organic merino from a breed local to the south of France. The crimp of the fleece traps a lot of air giving tons of warmth, while the fluffy and soft nature of the wool means this is the softest merino on the market.

It's usual retail price is $34 per skein but starting tomorrow it will be 30% off!

This super soft, chainette wool/nylon blend feels unreal. It's so lightweight, it can feel like you're not really holding anything while you work with it, but the fabric it makes is warm, even, and classic. Since it's made up of mostly air, the metreage is exceptional at 185 metres for 25g.

This is an utterly delicious, airy combination of cashmere, wool and a bit of nylon. It works up at a light bulky/aran weight and due to it's chainette style, it's quite a flexible yarn in terms of gauge.

Yarnies, like it or not, (and frankly, we like it a lot), autumn is coming! The most beautiful season of the year is a perfect match for crafting with yarn, and we have so many incredible new yarns coming over the next few months.

That means we have to make room in our little shop! So starting this Friday, we are having a lovely big sale.

We are very much enjoying the new(ish) Lichen and Lace Colour of Month program!

Each month we get a shipment of ten skeins of their 80/20 Sock Yarn in that month's colour and it's a total surprise each time we open the box!

This month's feature colourway is "Faded Jade." Perfect for a summer that feels like it's already on its way out, this colourway smacks of flip flops on the beach, sunscreen at the park, and a cool drink on a patio.

New to YU, Second Cashmere's reclaimed cashmere mending yarn!

We fell head over heels in love with Second Cashmere's mission, and we know you will too. They rescue secondhand cashmere garments, which would otherwise be mouldering in landfills, and give them a second life. Some are candidates for repair, some are made into accessories, and some of the yarn becomes this mending and repair thread that is perfectly suited to fix up your own cashmere pieces.

It's available in a wide range of colours with a focus on creamy neutrals so popular with cashmere wear. We are pumped to see what you will do with this thread, maybe it'll make it into some embroidery projects as well!
