DMX outdoor lighting project with and .
This is "test everything" day.
These "neon" LED strips are completely weatherproof and will be installed around the perimeter of a custom swimming pool as well as the outdoor stairs.
Each individual light is made of a red, green, blue and white LED, so combined they can make any colour.
Fully controlled from the Control4 app, you can work with them together as a group or control each strip separately.

Colour helps us stay organized. Also looks nice.

New theatre project!
Start with 9.1.2 in a smallish room (3 front channels, 2 surrounds, 2 rear surrounds, 2 wide channels, 2 Atmos height channels, 1 subwoofer channel but 2 subs)
First to install are the 2 x JL Audio In wall subs, with 13.5" drivers.
The inwall boxes are 70" tall and hang from a support rather than being bolted to the framing. With the proper isolation, this helps keep the sub vibrations from being transferred through the framing. Instead all the power comes through the driver at the bottom of the box.
The tall box is later drywalled in so all you see is the 13" grille at the bottom.
These are the best inwall subs we have tried.
More details to come as the project continues.

The goal with this project was to get the best performance from the equipment the client already had.
This client in Toronto is really focused on great audio. They have a pair of very very high end Raidho bookshelf speakers. However they don't produce much bass, so there is also a pair of high performance REL subwoofers. Getting your subs to integrate smoothly with your main speakers is really important for great sound from the low all the way to the high frequencies. Ideally it should sound like one speaker so you can't tell where the Raidhos stop and the RELs start.

The Lyngdorf MP40 surround sound processor with RoomPerfect room correction is the answer.

- smooth integration between the subwoofers and the main speakers. And if you want to tweak and adjust the results, you can do that as well!
- vocals are pinpoint accurate with a very clear centre image.
- very wide soundstage even in this narrow room, and you can pick out different instruments at different locations across the width of the soundstage.
- rock solid HDMI performance, with an upgrade path to 8K HDMI 2.1
- full integration with Control4 for system control and automation.

New backyard project in midtown Toronto.
First time we saw this project the yard was a wet pile of mud. The property is unusually wide but not deep, and the design makes great use of that layout.
- 3 separate zones of audio including TV audio that can be played through any of the speakers. By next season the greenery will have grown so you won't even see the speakers.
- 75" 4K outdoor TV. If you want to watch TV in the snow, go ahead!
- cabana louvres and lighting controlled with the Control4 automation system and app
- landscape lighting all automated with Control4
- outdoor Wifi
- all equipment safely installed in a rack inside the house. All audio and even 4K video sent from the rack to the backyard.

A discreet surround sound system built into a formal family room.
- 65" TV over the fireplace
- front Left/Centre/Right speakers installed in the ceiling above the TV, speakers are custom paint matched
- all the necessary equipment is in the room but behind the scenes. Open up one the beautiful custom cabinets and there it is, in a custom rack that slides out for easy access.
- that tiny grill? That's all you see for the subwoofer that powers the room. It also takes up more that 5 ft of space inside the wall, but that's invisible!
- all equipment, lighting and motorized shades controlled with Control4
