LOOK AT THIS FLOWER. 🌼👀

Leucanthemum ‘Banana Cream II’ is out here looking like it hired its own photographer.

Absolutely stunning. ✨

Meanwhile, we’re headed to Montreal in a van so full that Ottawa had to wait until tomorrow. 🚐🌿

Sorry, Ottawa. We love you. ❤️

But Montreal on a Monday?

Not a chance.

We’d rather cut back a 20-year-old Miscanthus giganteus with dull pruners than sit in Montreal traffic. At least the grass eventually gives up. 🌾😂

The bigger surprise this weekend?

The emails. 📧

Apparently shrinking our delivery area hit some people harder than expected.

A couple of messages felt less like customer feedback and more like we’d ended a long-term relationship over text.

“How could you do this through social media?” 💔

Ma’am.

You ordered six plants.

Two years ago.

Your address is a four-hour round trip from the greenhouse.

This wasn’t a breakup.

This was logistics. 😂

Then came our favourite email.

Apparently, because a delivery was delayed, we should be covering the cost of a babysitter that had been booked so someone could plant 14 perennials.

FOURTEEN. 😳

Now maybe we’re doing parenting wrong, but we have four kids.

The last time we hired a babysitter, we went for a steak dinner. 🥩

Nobody spilled milk.

Nobody asked for snacks.

Nobody yelled “Mom!” or “Dad!”

It was glorious. 🙌

So if you’ve booked a babysitter to plant your perennials, put BABYSITTER BOOKED in the order notes.

We’ll know the stakes are high. 😂🌿

Happy Sunday from somewhere on the 401. 🌼🚐

🌿 SATURDAY MORNING UPDATE FROM THE VAN 🌿

Friends…

May got a little out of hand. 😅

Actually, that’s not true.

May got a lot out of hand.

Back in April, we thought, “Wow, this is busy.”

Then May showed up, emptied the greenhouse 🌿, filled the delivery van 🚐, and said, “Good luck.”

To everyone who ordered plants, shared our posts, recommended us to friends, and patiently waited while we worked our way across Ontario and Quebec—thank you. 💚

This has been the biggest spring season we’ve ever experienced.

Today’s mission is simple.

Saturday: Finish Toronto deliveries and work our way toward Kingston. 📦🚐

Sunday: Finish Ottawa and Montreal deliveries. 📦🚐

Our goal is to complete every pending order by Sunday afternoon.

If you’ve received a flurry of delivery emails lately, there’s a good chance they were sent from the front seat of the van between stops. 😆

For the rest of this weekend, we won’t be sending additional delivery notifications. Every spare minute is going toward getting plants delivered.

If you have questions about an order, please email us 📧 at [email protected].

We know we’ve been behind schedule, and we appreciate your patience more than you know. If something isn’t right, don’t sit there frustrated—reach out. We’ll do everything we can to make it right. 💚

Looking ahead to June, we’ve made some changes.

We’ve reduced our delivery area, lowered the number of bookings we accept each day, and adjusted our delivery schedules to create a more predictable delivery experience.

Toronto: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

Ottawa: Monday, Friday

Montreal: Sunday, Wednesday

For now?

The van is loaded. 🚐

The coffee is hot. ☕

And we’re not stopping until the plants are home. 🌿💚

We said the A-word today. 😳

Actually… we saw the other A-word a few times too.

Toronto traffic. 🚗💨😂

But that’s a different conversation.

The A-word we’re talking about is…

A**uals.

There.

We sort of said it. 🌿😂

The perennial lovers can unclutch their pearls now.

Because every year, this client orders Pennisetum ‘Rubrum’ for his penthouse balcony garden.

Every. Single. Year.

And honestly? We get it.

This grass doesn’t show up quietly.

It arrives like it owns the building. 🌾😎

The deep burgundy foliage. The movement. The way it catches the evening light.

Put one in a planter and suddenly the whole container looks expensive.

Put three in and people assume you’ve hired a designer. 😂🔥

Will it come back next year?

No.

Will you care while it’s stealing the show all summer?

Also no.

Sometimes the A-word is worth it.

Meanwhile, today was absolute chaos.

More than 800 plants delivered. 🌿📦

Stops across the GTA.

Even a delivery to the University of Toronto. 🎓🌿

One greenhouse.

Thousands of plants.

Toronto. Ottawa. Montreal.

Some days we’re so busy we don’t have time to think about it.

Other days it hits us just how fortunate we are.

The last six weeks have been a blur of loading racks, unloading racks, coffee, customer emails, 20-hour days, and trying to survive Toronto traffic without expanding our vocabulary. 🚐☕😂

Busy is an understatement.

But we’re grateful.

For every order.

For every returning customer.

For every kind email.

And for every gardener who trusts us with their outdoor space. ❤️🌿

Now if you’ll excuse us, we have annuals to defend, perennials to deliver, and a few more kilometres to put on the van.

Happy Friday, friends. ☀️🌿

Ottawa delivery. One day late. Still gorgeous. 🌿😂

Full flat of Asarum europaeum, massive Hosta ‘Krossa Regal’, Dryopteris filix-mas, Athyrium filix-femina, Adiantum pedatum, and Gillenia trifoliata sitting pretty on the client’s doorstep like they just moved into the neighbourhood and immediately raised property values.

And yes, we know we’ve been behind this spring. We’re not pretending otherwise. The plants are ready. We’ve got hundreds and hundreds of healthy, Ontario-grown perennials available straight through to October. The problem is our booking calendar got a little too confident. That app looked at us and said, “Absolutely. You can do Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, answer emails, load trucks, water plants, and sleep. EASY.” 😂

Meanwhile we’re out here running on coffee, granola bars, and pure horticultural panic working 20-hour days trying to keep up with the flood of orders coming in. Honestly though, we’re incredibly grateful for it. Every single order matters to us.

So we made some adjustments. Ottawa deliveries are now Mondays and Fridays. Montreal deliveries are Sundays and Wednesdays. Yes, Sundays. At this point even church understands there are people waiting on ferns. 🙏📦

And honestly? Seeing beautiful plants safely delivered to someone’s doorstep makes the long days worth it every time. 🌸

Slept in today.
Woke up at 1 a.m. 😅

We’re rolling slowly through Toronto with a van absolutely jammed full of plants when Echinacea paradoxa catches our eye from the back like:

“Yeah… I know I look good.” 🌼

And honestly? Fair.

Waist high already, glowing soft yellow in the morning light, and somehow making a tiny nursery pot look wildly insufficient for this much personality.

What we love most about it is how beautifully it mingles with other tall, airy perennials:
💜 Verbena bonariensis
🌾 Sporobolus
🪻 Salvia ‘Caradonna’

Less stiff garden rows. More prairie magic. More movement. More bees doing their little drunk fly-bys all afternoon. 😂🐝

This one feels like summer arriving.

So we almost turned off our automatic “How did we do?” review email this week. 😂

We said, “Maybe this isn’t the week to ask.”
You know… considering we’ve been buried alive in spring garden chaos, working 20 hour days, sending daily delay updates, answering emails at midnight, and handing out $100 promo codes like a deranged daytime talk show host. 💀

Then we said NAH. Leave it on.

Because surely nobody would sit quietly through ALL of that… accept the $100 promo code… watch us personally deliver the plants in the afternoon…

…and then drop a two star review like we keyed their Tesla on the way out. 😂⭐⭐

MA’AM.

WE GAVE YOU A HUNDRED DOLLARS. 💀😂

At that point, I guess that’s one less Christmas card we have to send this year. 🎄

Honestly, the whole situation immediately reminded us of Echinops ‘Star Frost’ ❄️🌿

Cold.
Frosty.
Slightly prickly.

Beautiful plant though.

🇨🇦 Victoria Day Reality Check 🌿📦

Last night we finally pulled over at 11 p.m., exhausted, raining sideways, and slept upright in the plant van for five hours.

Honestly?
Pretty solid sleep. Probably because we’ve averaged about two hours a night for the last week. 😂

Now listen — we KNOW some May long weekend planting plans got wrecked because we’re behind. No excuses. We are absolutely grinding to catch up and make it right.

But one thing nobody can say?

We disappear.

There is not an email sitting unanswered for more than 10 minutes over here. We’ve been sending updates daily — sometimes twice daily — like caffeinated weather reporters with dirt under our fingernails. 🌿

Some folks found our emails in junk folders. Fair enough.

Some new customers asked:
“Are you guys even real?”

OH, we are real real. 😂
Nobody fakes sleeping vertically beside a tray of grasses.

And if your order’s delayed and you’re sitting in the corner mad at us? Email us. Seriously. Talk to us. We’ll make it right.

Did you get the promo code?
Maybe not yet. That might help soften the rage a little bit. 👀

And then there’s Grace from Montreal.

We send out an apology promo code and Grace replies:
“I’m not using that code. I’m buying more plants. You people are crazy.”

Grace… that’s elite-level kindness right there. 🌸

To our OG customers saying:
“Drive safe.”
“The garden can wait.”
“We trust you.”

Thank you. Truly.

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ve got plants to deliver and one functioning brain cell left between us. 🌿😂

MAY LONG WEEKEND UPDATE 🌿📦

You know that little tagline we use?
“The #1 Plant Shop.”

Well.

At approximately 11:47 PM last night — knee-deep in delivery trays, covered in dirt, surviving exclusively on coffee and mild panic — it felt a little ambitious. 😂

YES — we’re behind on deliveries this weekend.
NO — your plants are not lost.
And YES — every outstanding order will arrive by Monday morning, giving you the full day to get outside, get planting, and completely ignore whatever else you planned for the holiday weekend. 🌸

Now, to the 99% of customers who’ve been absolute legends this week:

The kind emails. ❤️
The “don’t stress, we understand!” messages.
The people leaving snacks and cookies on the porch for drivers. 🍪

Honestly, you’re carrying this perennial business emotionally right now.

And then there’s the other 1%.

Specifically Carmine.
And his five ‘Beauty of Livermore’ poppies. 🌺

Carmine is currently convinced we’re operating a sophisticated scam involving… five perennial poppies.

Which would easily be the least profitable criminal organization in Canadian history.

The email was so aggressive that we actually did something we NEVER do:

We picked up the phone and called him. ☎️

Because scammers definitely send daily updates about perennial deliveries… and then personally phone customers to discuss hostile flower correspondence.

And suddenly Carmine got real quiet.

Funny how some people become significantly less brave when the interaction leaves the comments section. 👀

Anyway — we know delays are frustrating. Nobody feels worse about being behind than we do. Every order is being packed by real humans trying to move thousands of plants across a May Long Weekend without fully dissolving into potting soil.

The plants are coming. 🌿
The emails are real.
And Carmine WILL receive his poppies.

Coreopsis Uptick Gold Bronze has been the brightest thing in the van all afternoon. 🌼

Which is impressive considering the van rolled into Ottawa from Kingston sometime around 2… maybe 3 a.m. and immediately went straight into black coffee, traffic, construction pylons, and survival mode. 😂

A fern riding shotgun spent half the night gently caressing the back of my neck like it was trying to avoid going to its forever home in Montreal.

Not sure what’s weirder… the fern doing it, or the fact I never moved it. 👀🌿

And yes, we’re behind schedule.
Already aware. 😂

So naturally, the emails are flowing:

“Where’s my tracking number?”
There isn’t one.

“What courier are you using?”
Black Sheep Express. 📦

“What time will you arrive?”
At some point before the long weekend.
(Relax… joking… mostly. 😏)

And to the customer who emailed nine times today before ending with:

“I really don’t want to be that annoying customer…” 👀😂

But honestly?
99% of the feedback this week, as usual, has been absolutely golden.

Patient. Kind. Calm, cool, supportive. Just like this Coreopsis Uptick Gold Bronze heading to its forever home in Montreal. 🌼

Bright golden blooms. Warm bronze centres. Quietly glowing through an absolutely chaotic week. 🌿
