My philosophy on interior design: Unless you’re renovating a home to flip it right away, forget about resale value. Home is about YOU. Drench your walls in moody jewel tones or your favorite pop of color. Bring home the pieces that bring you joy. Make it collected and curated. Make it meaningful. Make it weird. Life is too short to decorate for someone else’s idea of perfection.

I’ve never had conventional tastes and I couldn’t care less about what’s trendy, but here’s the thing…if you make your home uniquely you, your people will find you. 🖤

Tell me your fav thing in your home that’s just for YOU.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Rug made the room?”

It’s a not so well-kept secret that the easiest way to add warmth, texture, and character to your home is with an authentic vintage rug. Full of stories and and woven by skilled crafts(wo)men, these ancient treasures transform your living space in a way that modern machine-made “washable” rugs never could. Many of the designers I work with will actually start with the rug as the muse when designing a space, but it’s never too late to inject a little bit of colour and personality to your current home decor.

Need help deciding? We’re here to help you find the perfect piece to compliment your home. Just shoot us a DM.

It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since we finished up our home reno! What started as a simple deck replacement during Covid lockdown quickly spun out of control into a whole house renovation. Our 6 month timeline stretched to nearly 2.5 years thanks to permitting issues and a host of other delays. We planned to move out for 2-3 months during the heaviest part of the reno, but ran out of money and had to move back into our VERY gutted house when things got backed up. We lived in one bedroom with a microwave and one burner portable stove and one partial bathroom for a long time. There were many times when we were at our wit’s end. Decision fatigue set in. We felt overwhelmed. But, luckily, we had a vision and an amazing contractor willing to go along with our crazy ideas. So 2(ish) years later, we’re spilling the beans on what we love and what we would have done differently.

Would you try these? Hit me up with questions!

Shout out to Steeltown Salvage (island), Principle Faucets | Foot Pedal Control (sink foot pedal), B L A C K W O O D S I D I N G (yakisugi cladding), and our wonderful contractor Venco Renovations and Rebekah // Interior Consultant ❤️

Y’all have WAY more willpower than I do. If I had a place for this vintage beauty, he’d be off the market in a heartbeat. A classic Malayer with a rich navy field , pops of salmon, and the perfect patina won’t stick around long, so don’t let him get away.

👉🏻 Available now. Ships worldwide. Comment ‘SILAS’ for the link to shop.
