Why do we test each ear separately?
Because hearing loss doesn’t always affect both ears in the same way. A significant difference between the two ears - known as asymmetry - can be clinically important and may warrant further investigation.
That’s why a comprehensive hearing assessment looks at each ear individually, not just your overall hearing.
If one ear seems noticeably worse than the other, don’t ignore it.
