Meet Al Davis, he’s another fabulous human we met along this business journey. I was at a track meet late June and my friend Kim says what are you working on these days Shelley. I tell her I want to do a case study on a flower truck biz for Gabby but having some truck issues at the moment, she says what kind of truck? I say a 1950’s Ford! Kim says my dad is an expert at fixing old cars he’s been tinkering his whole life on them and needs a project - ( Check out the last pic of AL’s restored gem) Voila, next I ‘m on a coffee date with Al checking out the truck and delivering it to his home where he put hours of love into Ruby! Thank you Al, truck looks awesome and we can’t wait to deliver bundles of Gioia in the fall! Lesson learned, make the ask, it’s amazing who you can meet, and lastly it’s never the destination but the journey that’s rewarding!

We took a couple weeks off to hit the beach, leave the big city behind, no wifi, play games and think about what’s working, what’s not and what’s possible for Gioia! Good news the truck is ready to roll soon and then the possibilities are endless. Nobody says it will be easy but you get to enjoy the sweet ride!

Business, the highs the lows but it’s the journey and the people you meet along the way that make it Gioia filled! This weeks Gioia (virtual) bouquet goes to Stephanie . When we were doing our research for our retro flower truck in Toronto our inspiration was always Posies. We saw many other trucks and did reach out to those owners with some quick questions but no responses or replies to our emails or calls, except for Stephanie. She wrote us back and said I get many requests but send over the questions or come visit me. So when we went to Florida last month we made sure Posies was a must stop in Tampa!! Stephanie was so sweet and supportive and said it’s lots of work but worth it! Every city is different but make it your own and Go For It!! So we did!! People want to help, woman supporting woman! We are thankful for your time and positive energy!! Look for a Canadian Gioia package in mail, we know you have lots of flowers!!! @ Hyde Park Village

Happy - if you want the best donut 🍩 in the city head to Little India and try the many varieties of flavours! Most were sold out so we chose the classic cinnamon sugar today! Our fav is the Ferraro Rocher, Delish! We also stumbled upon the gorgeous mural with the inspiring Malala quote. When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful!
