📚 1. You’re the author and the publisher
Even authors working with a publishing houses have their editor to catch their mistakes.
An editor becomes your second pair of eyes, a critique, and your quality check.
✂️ 2. Less Is Greater
Children’s books are short—but every word has to be just right.
An editor helps trim the “not” needed words to make every line count.
👧🏽 3. Age-Appropriate Language Matters
Editors ensure your story speaks clearly to your target age group.
With that being said, I've had multiple editors for one book and initially it was quite frustrating to be honest. Advice to the new authors out there, be prepared to have an editor critique the work of your manuscript that was already edited. Also, each editor seems something different and you can honestly get confused as to why no editor edits alike.
