✨ Hi, I'm Esther, the founder of Orihikari.

I've always loved Japanese anime (especially Ghibli!), cozy games like Animal Crossing, and creating warm, relaxing spaces at home.

During a trip to Kyoto in 2024, I discovered a small chouchin lantern shop and fell in love with a lantern that simply said 「かわいい/Kawaii」. I brought it home and used it almost every day while reading. It made my little corner feel so cozy.

When I tried to find another lantern like it, I couldn't. Most were made for restaurants or commercial spaces, not for cozy homes.

So I decided to create my own.

After months of designing and sampling, Orihikari was born. 🏮 My goal is simple: to bring the warm, magical feeling of Japan into your own space.

If you love anime, cozy nights, Japanese culture, or simply creating a home you love, I hope these lanterns bring you as much joy as they've brought me. ❤️✨

Every time I wandered through the quiet alleys of Japan, I was drawn to the warm glow of rows of chochin lanterns. They made every street feel cozy, peaceful, and welcoming.
That feeling stayed with me long after I came home, and it inspired me to create the Orihikari Chochin Lantern. I wanted to recreate the magic of walking through a lantern lit alley in Japan and bring that same cozy atmosphere into my own home.
