Bienvenue au pagayeur tahitien Temoana Taputu au sein de l’équipe Hammers+Legends. Temoana est un pagayeur de haut niveau confirmé, ayant réalisé d’excellentes performances sur la scène internationale en OC1 et notamment avec Team OPT. L’équipage a remporté la Hawaiki Nui en 2023 et 2024, ainsi que la deuxième place, établissant un nouveau record pour la première étape, lors de l’édition 2025. La même année, Team OPT a également remporté la Molokai Hoe.

Temoana a commencé le pagayage à 13 ans et s’est rapidement distingué chez les juniors, terminant deuxième de la Tahiti Nui Junior et de la Hawaikinui Junior. Il a rejoint Team OPT très tôt, où il s’est entraîné avec acharnement, a contribué au succès de l’équipe et en est aujourd’hui le capitaine.

The Hawaiian Palaka pattern has a long history. The fabric was tough and became an essential part of workwear, especially for Japanese plantation workers who saw it as similar to the indigo blues from Japan. The Palaka print stands for Hawaii’s history and pride in hard work.

The Hanohano Ocean Challenge is one most iconic paddle sport events in California, and one of the longest running paddle sport events in North America. This year marks its 31st year of OC1, Surfski, Traditional Paddleboard, Standup Paddleboard, V1 and Kayak racing.

Since the soft launch, we have been pushing innovative designs and technical fabrics, and in 2026, we are going to go next level. This is not about hype, this is about real solutions. When I first started paddling it was in cold water, and it was a pain point I never shook off. It is one of the reasons why I created Hammers+Legends, to engineer real solutions in paddle clothing and to make clothing better for people who get out on the water.

The history of the fabric I developed for the cold, PROMETEX™ HEAT goes back a few years. Working tirelessly at the fabric mill with several fabric technicians alongside Unifi, a US company that makes performance yarns, I wanted a fabric that would allow paddlers to be warm without giving up freedom of movement.

What was created was a mid-weight thermal performance fabric, with 4-way stretch, great skin feel, and best-in-class moisture wicking while retaining heat.

The testing process took PROMETEX™ HEAT to several parts of the world, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, and the United States with temperatures as low as 5C/40F. The feedback was the same, the cold gear jerseys feel great and help to protect against the cold while paddling.
