LONG WEEKEND RECOMMENDED READS!
We DON’T know if the weather will cooperate, but we DO know you can have a great book to keep you company this long weekend, rain or shine! Sarah and Susan recommend their latest staff picks! ☀️ 🌧️
SARAH: SPEAK TO ME OF HOME by
“As you all know I love complicated family stories. Well SPEAK TO ME OF HOME by ticked all the boxes for me. Partially set in Puerto Rico we meet Rafaela, Ruth, and Daisy. Rafaela marries an American and leaves San Juan but what she thought would be an ideal life leaves her isolated. Her daughter Ruth consciously distances herself from her Puerto Rican heritage but Ruth’s daughter Daisy opts to return to the family roots. After a hurricane critically injures Daisy both mother and grandmother return to PR and must confront their past decisions. It’s a fantastic and absorbing read!”
SUSAN: HEARTWOOD by
“Right from the first page I was engrossed in this story of a woman who goes missing on the most difficult hiking section of the Appalachian Trail in Maine. The women characters are brilliant and I found the hiking parts fascinating. This book is just brilliant and I highly recommend it!”
